Annyeonghaseyo [ahn-yung-hah-say-yo] (Hello)
Hanabi Sushi is not a fancy sushi restaurant. This Korean-owned Japanese restaurant is very small and every possible inch is filled with tables and chairs. Yet, the food is fresh; the service is fast; and the price is cheap. No wonder why there is always a lineup at dinner time. After you have chosen from the all-day-special menu, the server will give you a small bowl of salad, a small bowl of miso soup with bean sprout, shredded carrot and tofu, a small bowl of Korean-style congee and some appetizers, usually tofu in sweet sauce, boiled edamame beans and deep-fried salmon pieces. The chirashi [chee-RAH-shee] (raw fish served on rice) ($7.99) is a good deal, although you will only find salmon sashimi on the bed of rice. The meal is usually completed by a small scope of green-tea-flavoured ice-cream.
